We’d like to wrap up the month by highlighting some of the progress that our teams have made, both as individuals and as a group.
Congratulations to Fallon Faia, October’s Mocker of the Month, and the first of the 2012-2013 season. Fallon competed with Team Fire, and is now playing a witness role on Blue.
Also, the second issue of our monthly newsletter is now available! Check it out, because it’s been a busy month! You can also view the other issues here.
It has been a busy two weeks for the team! We traveled to Loyola University for a two-round scrimmage tournament on October 13. Congratulations to team Blackhawks for being the second place team at the scrimmage overall, and the top-ranking Illinois team. The scrimmage was a great way to prepare for our first real tournament of the year on the following weekend.
The Arch Invitational was this past weekend, October 20-21, and was hosted by Washington University, in Saint Louis. Our invitational teams competed in a standard four-round tournament, and for many of our members this was their first real tournament. The teams really came through, and the new members showed some incredible improvement, even just in the week between the Loyola scrimmage and the Arch Invitational. Congratulations to team Fire for being the top-ranking Illinois team, and to Kelsey Chetosky for her Outstanding Witness award for her portrayal of Special Agent Carey Connor. All three of the teams put forth an excellent performance this past weekend!
The Arch Invitational concludes our invitational season, which brings us to one of the most exciting events of the year – re-stacks! After a long deliberation process by the coaches and invitational captains, our organization has been re-stacked into three competitive teams: Blue, Orange and Bears, with Blue being the highest-level team. The new roster can be seen on our Members page. This begins our competitive season, and with three incredibly talented teams, it’s shaping up to be a good year!
