Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Season

Interested in joining the Illinois Trial Team? Here are a list of dates to keep in mind:

Info Meetings: Tuesday, August 29th at 7 PM and Wednesday, August 30th at 5 PM in the Law Building Room A (504 E. Pennsylvania Ave.)

Clinics: Thursday, August 31st from 4:30 – 7 PM in the Law Building, Room C. AND Monday, September 4th from 4:30 – 7 PM in the Law Building, Room K. Feel free to show up for only part of either (or both!) of these clinics.

Tryouts: The first round of tryout times will be made by appointment. They will be anytime 6:00-10:00 PM, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday (September 5th, 7th, & 8th), in the Law Building. September 5th tryouts will take place in Room K, September 7th & 8th in Room J.
The second round will be by invitation only on Sunday, September 10th at sometime between 6:00-10:00 PM, in the Law Building.  You are strongly encouraged to attend an Info Meeting to signup. If you can’t attend one, email

2017-2018 Tryout Packet

If you have never participated in mock trial and still want to try out, don’t worry. We will be holding clinics for prospective members where current members will be giving pointers and reviewing your material. You may also want to watch these helpful tutorial videos.

Mid-Season Tryouts are here!

        We will be hosting a second round of tryouts for this school year, if you have already tried out for the team and want to try again, you are more than welcome.
        We will be having an Info Meeting on Wednesday 11/4 at 6:00pm at the University Illinois College of Law Building (504 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Champaign). There, you can learn more about the team, who we are, and what the tryout process will be like.
        If you can’t make the Info Meeting, you are still welcome to tryout. Please email for more information.

It consists of important dates, a summary of tryouts, contact information, a questionnaire sheet, and then the witness testimony that you will be using. Important Dates:

Attend one info night on 8/26 or 8/27 from 6:30-8:30 pm the place is our Law School located directly east of the Arc (504 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Champaign IL 61820)

Attend at least one clinic on 8/28 or 8/31 from 3:00-6:00 pm which is also located at the Law School

Blue and Orange Advance to ORCS

Blue and Orange move on to ORCS in Louisville, KY March 13-15!

Last weekend Blue and Orange took Kansas City by storm earning the organization two bids to ORCS for the first time in 7 years. Phil West led the way for Orange by winning an outstanding attorney award and Stephanie Flowers helped Blue’s effort by taking home an outstanding witness award. Both teams will begin preparing for ORCS with a vengeance in the coming weeks looking to take home two bids to Nationals for the first time in the trial team’s history!

We also wish Silver good luck in South Bend, IN this weekend with their regional tournament!

Second Semester Info Sessions February 16th and 19th

Interested in learning about the law? Love to act and argue? Look great in a suit?

Then come out to our info sessions February 16th or 19th at the Law Building (504 East Pennsylvania Avenue just east of the ARC). At the info sessions we’ll let you know how you can try out for the team next year and the things that you can do this semester to get prepared! Throughout the semester we’ll be offering weekly lessons to better prepare our potential new members for tryouts and the competitive season! We hope to see you there!
